Haiti Appeal
As many of you may very well be aware, on the 12th of January 2010, that being five days ago, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occured only a few miles off shore of the Haitian capital of Port au Prince. This has been confirmed as the worsed quake in over 200 years, and has left devastation in it’s aftermath. Reports over the past week has given figures placing the death toles at over 200,000, and property damage leaving many thousands more homeless and out of work. The closest point to the epicentre of the quake was the capital city. Which today lies as a flattened heap of rubble. The presidential building is damaged and the Parlament Building and the National Cathedral have been left in ruins.
Many charities have already set funds to support the people of Haiti and the aid worker volunteers. Paypal has joined forces with many of the charities to make payment transitions easier and quicker to the charities, and Ultima-Java Creative Media is going to be supporting the work in Haiti. So on behalf of the people of Haiti, if you can spare some money, we urge you to make a donation here, or to one of your local charities that are involved in the cause.
